Demonstration and measurement of bad breath: including personal identification and demonstration by professionals.
1 – Personal Identification:
- Control of breath is blowing on his hands placed in a cup to his mouth.
- Review of the entourage (spouse, friends).
- Floss and interdental brossettte: after their use, control of their smell gives a partial objectivity of bad breath.
- Testing of saliva on the wrist: lick the inside of your wrist, let the saliva dry and feel. Lets see if saliva is the carrier of bad breath.
- Microbial testing: Fresch Breath Testing Institute, Dr. Mel Rosenberg OraTest.
2. Demonstration by professionals:
- Gas Chromatography: This technique allows to separate the components of a gas and identify them. The CVS are identified by this method.
- BANA test: This test detects the presence of bacteria most active in producing hydrogen sulphite (Porphyromas gingivalis, Treponema denticola, Bacteroides forsythus).
- Halimeter: spectrophotometer that detects the presence of CVS and measure their intensity.
